Gold Coast Surfing

Surfing

The Gold Coast is famous for its beaches, and also for its surfing breaks. The sub-tropical climate and predominantly right-handed point breaks make it a favourite destination for surfers worldwide, with international surfing tournaments held here each year.

Best surfing breaks are at Snapper Rocks, Duranbah, Kirra Beach, Currumbin Alley, Burleigh Heads, South Stradbroke, The Spit and Narrowneck.

However, if you’re just a beginner and have always wanted to learn how to surf on the Gold Coast, hit the waves through a ‘learn to surf’ program.

Surfing schools provide a safe, fun and exciting surfing experience, where beginners are also given an introduction to the beach environment and surf safety, and surfboards and wetsuits are provided for the lessons.
